AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Magnificent collection of 24 miniature porcelain plates from the series “Songbirds of the World” (Les Oiseaux Chanteurs du Monde), published by Franklin Porcelain, accompanied by its large original wooden wall display cabinet.
This superb ornithological collection features 24 songbirds from around the world, beautifully illustrated by artist Colin Newman, renowned for the finesse and realism of his bird renderings.
Each plate represents a different species in its natural habitat, surrounded by flowers, foliage, branches and plant elements characteristic of its habitat.
The illustrations stand out for their remarkable precision: delicately shaded plumage, natural poses, refined botanical compositions and especially vibrant colors.
The plates are made of white porcelain, with a glossy finish and an elegant gold-edged border outlining their contour.
