Set of 4 Longchamp Majolica oyster plates in French Barbotine, Art Nouveau style, circa 1900; origin Burgundy/Dijon, France; 24 cm diameter, 3 cm high, about 2.5 kg; decorated with oyster shells on a basket-weave, green glaze, and marked "Longchamp Terre de Fer" with stamps "K" and "0006" or "1006"; condition: fair with chips and craquelure.

Longchamp - Belle Époque French Barbotine - Majolica oyster plates.
Scallop shells laid on a woven oyster basket.
Beautiful Barbotine - relief sculptural design decoration.
Richly colored green glaze with scallop shells with cream, blue and brown highlights.
Set of 4 Longchamp Majolica Oyster Plates with Basket-Weave Decoration and Scallop shells – France, circa 1900.
The plates are marked: "Longchamp Terre de Fer" with stamps "K" and: "0006" or "1006" (see detailed photos).
There plates have some chips/imperfections and craquelure consistent with age and use.
The rich green glaze, combined with cream-colored shells accented with subtle blue and brown tones, creates a striking naturalistic effect. The sculptural relief and vibrant glazing demonstrate the quality and craftsmanship for which Longchamp became renowned.
