Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Swiss pocket watch from 1850–1900 with a verge movement and key-wound mechanism on the dial side, in brass case marked laiton, weighing 100 g, case diameter 44 mm, lug width 50 cm, chain included, in working order but with patina and notable wear and oxidation and bezel decorations missing stones.
Description from the seller
Pocket watch of Swiss origin, dating to the early 19th century, with a fusee movement and key-winding from the side of the dial. A specimen of particular interest for enthusiasts of ancient watchmaking.
The most fascinating detail is the finely pierced and engraved balance bridge with vegetal motifs and volutes, which embellishes the movement. The clear dial features thin, stylized Arabic numerals, dark hands, and a winding hole near 2 o'clock.
The bezel retains part of the decorative bright elements that originally followed its profile: some stones are missing, and those present have not been tested, therefore their nature is not declared.
The case bears a mark attributable to the French term laiton, indicating brass; material analyses have not been carried out. The chain is included in the sale.
The watch is running; precision and power reserve have not been verified. It shows patina, signs of wear and traces of oxidation on the metal parts, in addition to the missing parts on the bezel.
The photographs document the condition of the object and constitute an integral part of the description.
Shipping will be managed via the Smart Shipping service of Catawiki, with Poste Italiane, Bartolini or UPS.
