Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
French-origin pocket watch by L'Alouette dating to 1850–1900, with a steel case and manual wind movement, 44 mm diameter, chain included, in good condition with patina and wear and currently in running order.
Description from the seller
Pocket watch of French origin, with the brand “L’Alouette” on the movement, accompanied by an engraving of a bird in flight.
The white dial features large stylized black Arabic numerals, red inner hour numerals from 13 to 24, and small seconds at 6 o’clock. Of particular charm is the richly decorated case back with flowers, leaves and scrolls, arranged around a central cartouche devoid of initials. The balance bridge is also adorned with an engraved decoration.
The rear seems to preserve faint traces of a previous gold finish, today almost entirely worn away; the nature of the finish and the materials of the case and chain have not been ascertained.
The watch is ticking and in good overall condition, with patina, scratches, and wear to the decoration. On the dial there are small specks, wear to part of the numerals, and a thin line near 8 o’clock. Accuracy and power reserve have not been verified.
The chain is included in the sale. The photographs document the condition of the object and constitute an integral part of the description.
Shipping will be managed via Catawiki’s Smart Shipping service, with Poste Italiane, Bartolini, or UPS.
