Description from the seller
refined vintage service or bar set in solid silver, composed of 4 finely crafted pieces. This set represents an excellent snapshot of the history of Italian silverware in the twentieth century, uniting the historic Padovan artisan school with the Florentine one in an eclectic family heirloom of great classical taste. The circular tray bears at its center an elegant period engraving with the monogram initials "C.M." rendered in a classic typeface. Set Composition and Punch Marks: The service has been analyzed in detail and presents the following official state marks:
Vassoio circolare "Gallery Tray": Made of solid silver with the typical raised, finely pierced edge. Stamped on the bottom with the title 800 and the Italian factory mark from the mid-20th century.
Boccale (Mug) with handle: In classic Sheffield style, stamped on the outer edge with the title 800 and the historic lozenge "16 PD" (Manifattura di Padova, period 1934-1968), completed by the silversmith’s figurative marks.
Bicchiere svasato (Beaker): With clean and essential lines, stamped on the bottom with the title 800 (Padovan school).
Ciotolina bombata (Zuccheriera/Portaspezie): Elegant element added later to the set, made in the finest sterling silver 925 (title impressed on the bottom) with star stamp "1428 FI" (Manifattura di Firenze, post-1968).
