Le Yack’s limited edition hand-signed giclée print on canvas, titled “Last Show, Heavy Rain”, 60 x 40 cm, edition of 20, created in 2026, with a certificate of authenticity, shipped from France.
Description from the seller
A motel room, somewhere in California, on a rainy evening. Seated on the edge of the bed, in a tight yellow dress, a brunette with red lips slowly removes her long white gloves. On the nightstand, the key to room 12. At her feet, a suitcase she has not yet opened. Outside, the neon sign « MOTEL » glows red beneath a palm tree, and headlights have just stopped in front of the window.
That’s the whole backdrop of American crime novels, from The Postman Always Rings Twice to 1950s road movies: the motel as a place of passage, a secret rendezvous, or a getaway. The glove gesture, almost cinematic, calls to mind the great heroines of Gilda. She was waiting for someone, and that someone has just arrived. Or perhaps it’s precisely the person she was fleeing. The Yack freezes the moment when everything tips over.
A nocturnal and sensuous canvas, where the yellow of the dress burns amid the deep blues of the room.
