Set of Six 19th–20th Century Chinese Hardstone Carved Animal Panels
Description
This impressive set consists of six Chinese hardstone carved animal panels dating from the 19th–20th century. Originally, these panels were likely part of a larger folding screen or decorative room divider that was later dismantled.
Each panel can be appreciated as an individual work of art. The animals are finely carved from hardstone and mounted within decorative frames. Additional materials, including stained bone elements and carved wooden bases or supports, contribute to the richness and craftsmanship of the overall design.
The reverse of each panel is decorated with floral motifs, demonstrating that attention was given to both sides of the pieces. The combination of hardstone carving, bone decoration, and woodwork creates an attractive display reflecting traditional Chinese decorative arts.
The set remains in excellent overall condition and presents beautifully.
