Description from the seller
Title:
Manuel Vicente Mora (Madrid, 1924) - View of Calle del Codo, Madrid - Oil on panel
Description:
An attractive oil painting on wooden panel by the renowned Madrilenian painter and illustrator Manuel Vicente Mora (Madrid, b. 1924). This artwork captures one of the most iconic and picturesque perspectives of old Madrid (Madrid de los Austrias): the narrow "Calle del Codo" framing the monumental 16th-century architecture of the Casa de Cisneros, located in the historic Plaza de la Villa.
The artist showcases his mastery in urban costumbrista painting through an excellent command of perspective, a beautiful play of light and shadow between the buildings, and a warm, ochre-toned color palette highly characteristic of his work.

• Medium: Oil on panel (wooden board)
• Period: Second half of the 20th century
• Signature: Hand-signed by the artist in the lower right corner ("M. Vicente Mora").
