Description from the seller
Elegant bronze altar set, dating from roughly the late nineteenth century, consisting of a central crucifix and a pair of matching candlesticks.
The crucifix features the figure of Christ in relief, carefully modeled, on a cross with arms finished and a neo-Gothic-inspired, stylized architectural structure. Notably, its elaborately crafted architectural base is decorated with relief vegetal and ornamental motifs.
The two candlesticks reproduce the same decorative language, with turned shafts, broad candle cups, and ornamented polygonal bases, forming a harmonious ensemble conceived for private devotion.
The bronze retains an attractive antique patina, with tones and signs of time that enhance the historic character of the pieces.
Crucifix: 35 × 13 cm. Candlesticks: 14 cm high × 6 cm in diameter. Total approximate weight: 716 g.
A beautiful piece of European sacred art, especially interesting for its preservation, proportions, and decorative presence.
