“Autumn Forest” by Dieter Wulff
Atmospheric forest landscape by the German painter Dieter Wulff. The painting shows a view into an autumnal forest, whose tall, dark tree trunks structure the composition and lead the eye into the depth.
Between the trunks, yellow, orange, and ochre leaves glow against muted greens and blues. Particularly appealing is the interplay of light and shadow: while the foreground is dominated by strong browns and earth tones, the forest in the background opens up to a brighter, more atmospheric area.
Wulff works with a lively, clearly visible brushwork. Leaves, branches, and forest floor are not drawn in a graphic manner, but built up through individual, sometimes boldly applied brushstrokes. This creates a loose and immediate rendering of the autumn forest mood.

An atmospheric forest landscape with pronounced depth and lively brushwork. Especially the combination of the dark tree trunks, the autumn colorplay, and the lighter areas in the background gives the work its spatial and painterly impact.
Short biography: Dieter Wulff (1929–2010)
Dieter Wulff was a German painter who began his artistic career with a solid training as a sculptor. From this classical training, he developed an autonomous, expressively shaped visual language. From the 1960s onward, landscape moved to the center of his work, characterized by clear composition, distinctive linework, and atmospheric colorfulness. In the 1980s, Wulff was among the particularly sought-after artists in his region and was active for decades as a gallerist, teacher, and organizer of exhibitions. Today his works enjoy a steadily growing demand in the collectors’ market.
