Description from the seller
Elegant antique bronze altar set, comprising a tabletop crucifix and a pair of matching candlesticks from the 20th century.
The crucifix presents Christ beneath a cartouche INRI, on a cross richly ornamented with incised motifs and floral finials. It rests on an elaborate stepped base with relief vegetal decoration and historicist-style feet.
The candlesticks share the same ornamental language, with broad candle cups, foliate decoration, and stylized shafts atop worked bases, creating a balanced ensemble with a strong presence.
The bronze preserves an attractive antique patina, with tonal variations and signs consistent with the passage of time that enhance the character of the pieces.
Crucifix: 30 × 16 cm. Candlesticks: 20 cm high × approx. 13 cm in diameter. Total weight of the set: approx. 1,455 kg.
A beautiful European sacred-art piece, especially appealing for a collection, private chapel, or decoration with a historicist character.
