Gilded bronze desktop frame with Rococo-inspired openwork, dating to 1930–1940, made in Spain, externally 32 × 27 cm (internal 22 × 17 cm) and weighing about 1,467 g.
Description from the seller
Elegant desk frame made of gilded bronze, of generous proportions and notable weight, extensively worked with rich pierced decoration in Rococo-inspired style.
The perimeter features a sequence of scrolls, volutes, acanthus leaves and botanical motifs, arranged in a symmetric composition with a strong ornamental effect. The frame rests on small integrated supports and retains at the rear its folding foot, which allows its display on a table, console, or desk.
The solid construction and elaborate casting work give it a particularly striking presence. It preserves glass and backing, as well as an attractive golden tone with slight signs of aging.
Measurements: 32 × 27 cm. Approximate weight with glass and backing: 1,467 g.
A piece with a distinctly historicist aesthetic, especially appealing to collectors of decorative bronzes and ornamental frames.
