Antique miniature with a portrait of a noblewoman, 19th century. Empire style. The noblewoman wears a tulle dress with a crinoline, as neoclassical and Romantic fashion of her time required. The hairstyle is gathered and soft. She also wears a piece of jewelry, most likely a locket pendant. The square miniature is set in a gilded metal frame and mounted on a square protective plaque of ebonized wood, equipped with a ring for hanging on the wall.
