LASVEGUIX
French contemporary artist Lasveguix develops a singular universe at the crossroads of street art, collage, and contemporary painting. His work probes the memory of walls, the passage of time, and the poetry of the ephemeral, transforming urban scars into emotionally charged pieces.
Introduced to graffiti by his cousin SUOZ, he shapes his visual language from his encounters with the walls of Paris and London. His art aligns with a lineage where the great names of urban and contemporary art converse. You can hear the influence of Jacques Villeglé and Raymond Hains in the torn-poster technique, the sculptural force of Vhils, the raw energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat, the silhouettes of Jérôme Mesnager, the poetry of Miss Tic, the urban memory of Ernest Pignon-Ernest, the stencils of Jef Aérosol, the pixelated universe of Invader, and the iconic power of Shepard Fairey. Without ever imitating them, Lasveguix asserts a distinctive, instantly recognizable voice.
Torn posters, spray paint, acrylic, Posca, and reliefs compose true “wall skins,” where rips, overlaps, and traces of time become witnesses to a collective memory. Each work reveals a dialogue between material, history, and emotion, inviting the viewer to rediscover the beauty of what the city seemed to forget.
Lasveguix regularly exhibits in France and abroad. His works join private collections in many countries, reflecting growing interest from collectors. His career has led him to participate in art fairs, prestigious exhibitions, and charity galas bringing together collectors, patrons, and institutions. His work has been showcased at events held at Roland-Garros, the District 13 Art Fair at Hôtel Drouot, in Monaco, and at several iconic venues of the contemporary art scene.
Through each of his creations, Lasveguix gives a second life to the remnants of the city. He does not merely depict walls; he reveals their soul, letting urban heritage, memory, and creation converse in a work that is deeply contemporary and timeless.
