Description from the seller

a porcelain paperweight in the shape of an open book, designed by Gio Ponti for the Richard-Ginori manufactory (Doccia) in the 1920s/30s. On the left page it features an arch with an arrow, and on the right page the famous motto of Benito Mussolini "...we shall go straight..."
• Back mark: The clear presence of the manufactory mark "Richard-Ginori Pittoria di Doccia" and any signature or initials of Gio Ponti on the back certify its originality and support its valuation.
• Historical interest: This kind of art object from the "Biblioteca" series is highly sought after by collectors of Gio Ponti’s author ceramics as well as historical objects from the period.
