Description from the seller
Fine earthenware dish set — late 19th century, Wedgwood, Perrier fils store mark in Paris, pink and gold decoration
Set of three fine English earthenware dishes from Wedgwood, also bearing the red mark of Parisian retailer Perrier fils, established on Boulevard Saint-Germain.
This type of double marking illustrates well the commercial circuits of the late 19th century, where some renowned Paris houses offered to a bourgeois clientele pieces imported from England, selected for their quality and taste in line with the decorative standards of the moment.
The decoration, with great sober elegance, pairs a pink ground with touches of gold, in a late neoclassical spirit. The ornamentation, discreet yet refined, rests on a play of borders and stylized friezes, perfectly in keeping with the late-century arts of the table.
The three pieces present complementary formats, allowing varied use within a service:
a small oval dish (27 × 22 cm),
an intermediate-sized dish (30 × 26 cm),
a large round dish (35 cm in diameter).
The condition is excellent, with no notable wear, which is worth noting for this type of utilitarian production.
Shipping will be carried out with the utmost care, in professional packaging perfectly suited to these fragile pieces. Shipping costs are set as fairly as possible according to weight and destination, including for international destinations.
