AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This is Takashi Murakami's latest work from 2025,
"Kujaku-Tachiaoi-zu Byōbu."
Produced using 4-color offset printing, foil stamping, and a clear coat finish.
Hand-signed.

This is the latest work by Takashi Murakami.

This piece is based on the left panel of the Important Cultural Property *Peacocks and Hollyhocks* (a folding screen) by Ogata Kōrin (see the left side of the reference photo).

In this work, the hollyhocks are depicted with the faces characteristic of Murakami’s "Flower" motif.
The hollyhocks from the classical painting have taken on a new expression through Murakami’s signature color palette and character design.

Red and white hollyhocks with slender, upright stems are set against a gold background,
creating a quiet rhythm through the arrangement of the blossoms and leaves.
Intricate screen-printing techniques have been applied to each individual flower and leaf;
while it may appear to be a natural scene at first glance, a closer look reveals a profound, abstract-painting-like intensity—a piece that truly appeals to the connoisseur.

This is a limited edition of 300 prints.
It bears Takashi Murakami’s hand-signed signature and the edition number.

Size: 550 × 662 mm
*Note: There is a dent in the shipping carton, but the artwork itself is undamaged.
A certificate of authenticity is included, but the section containing personal information (printed in red) has been cut out. Thank you for your understanding.
