The Characters of Theophrastus with The Characters or the Manners of this Century. By M. De La Bruyère, augmented by the Défense de La Bruyère by M. Coste. Amsterdam, At F. Changuion, 1741. Complete works in two volumes; pp. (8), 487, (1); (6), 580; cm. 17 x 10. In full contemporary leather with abrasions and a loss at the top of the spine, light natural foxing.
