Crypto Stallone - Rambo III - XXL, a 2024 limited edition (2/8) mixed media mosaic on aluminium with vinyl, 40 × 60 cm, 1 kg, signed on the board by French artist David Law, depicting Culture Pop and belonging to the Echo Waves / Echo Visions series.
Description from the seller
Special Crypto Movie Series - Reconstituting a photo using photos of the represented artist.
Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images
Multidisciplinary photographer artist, author and musician, David Law develops a body of work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.
New series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons
The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary rereading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made up of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it reveals a wealth of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject portrayed. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. A thorough study is carried out on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created originally and independently.
Edition & Fabrication
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered pieces + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminum with an integrated rear mount. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum panels, with matte UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term resistance, color stability and a modern and contemporary rendering.
Career
Since 2014, David Law participates in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops an authorial and musical career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
