Ceramic wall fountain with removable lid, produced in Italy between 1970 and 1980 in Baroque Chinoiserie style.
Description from the seller
Wall fountain (or decorative wall washbasin) with removable lid.
Glazed glossy ceramic of good workmanship.
Refined polychrome motif inspired by Oriental and Chinese aesthetics (Green Family / Chinoiserie style). The front features a rich composition of lotus and peony flowers in shades of orange, purple and yellow, enriched by the central figure of a phoenix (or bird of paradise) with colorful plumage. The body of the fountain and the lid have vertical grooves (godronatura) decorated with small coordinated floral bouquets.
The back of the object is flat to fit against the wall, with a solid metal wire running through the back, designed for secure wall mounting. The bottom ends in a spout with a hole, originally intended to accommodate a small metal dispensing tap (not present).
Excellent overall aesthetic condition, normal and slight signs of aging. The glaze retains its original luster and the colors of the decoration are vivid and free from fading. No chips, cracks, or visible restorations on the main body or the lid.
