Vintage illuminated world globe dating to the 1960s–1970s with a plastic half-meridian and a dark brown turned wooden base, 33 cm high and about 30 cm in diameter, weighing 700 g, featuring a French political map and a functional internal light.
Description from the seller
This vintage illuminated world globe features a political map drawn in French, resting on a silver-colored plastic half-meridian with degree markings and a circular turned-wood base in a dark brown finish. The device is equipped with a fully functional internal lighting system powered by an electrical cord running through the base. This item has a total weight of 700 grams with a height of 33 cm and a diameter of approximately 30 cm. Under the wooden base, the black ink stamp contains a first line indicating the manufacturing reference 726 59 / 2 and the electrical technical specifications of voltage and power 220 V / 15 W, followed below by the inspection mark Kontroll - Nr . 9. The cartography does not show a publisher's signature visible on the observed areas, but the typography and construction are characteristic of German or Italian productions from the 1970s or 1980s distributed across Europe. The globe is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition, the wiring is fully operational and the surface of the sphere shows no tears, with only a darker, original assembly seam at the equatorial junction linking the two hemispheres.
