Description from the seller

Old grand bronze from Vienna representing a very realistic lizard dating from the very early 20th century. It is stamped "Geschützt" and bears the number 3003. This very beautiful sculpture was certainly created by the very famous sculptor and founder Franz Xavier Bergmann (1861 - 1936) (A tiny bit above the G of Geschützt I seem to glimpse the artist's famous amphora, but it is very faint; I’ll let you judge by consulting the photos. It wouldn’t be surprising given the quality of this object. By the way, another Bergmann lizard of smaller size is currently for sale on the site. Both are identical in their execution and quality; only the size changes...). It is in very good condition. Time has taken its toll on the patina. The original polychromy is in superb condition. The colors are vivid and well preserved. A small piece of one of the little toes of the front paw is, however, missing. Carefully observe all the photos which are an integral part of the description. Very beautiful expression. It is incredibly true to life with its little reptile eyes, the chiselling of its skin, the finesse of its toes and its delicate colors. It even has its gills represented... truly great art! Dimensions: 17 x 11 x 4 cm. Weight: 257 grams. A note for collectors, reptile lovers and fans of display objects. Fast and careful shipping."
