Chronometre Kaiserstunde open-face pocket watch with manual winding, silver case, reference 373111, circa 1910–1920, in good condition with visible signs of wear and weighing 60 g.
Description from the seller
Offered is a splendid and authentic open-face pocket watch from the Swiss brand Chronomètre Kaiserstunde, produced around the early 20th century (circa 1910–1920). This historic timepiece is manufactured by the renowned watchmakers Les Fils de Numa Gagnebin from Tramelan. The watch is in a strikingly neat condition and is supplied including the extremely rare, original felt storage pouch with matching brand printing. A unique collector’s piece that in this complete composition rarely comes to market.
The inside of the rear case shows pure Swiss quality and is officially certified with a 0.800 silver content, accompanied by the iconic Swiss capercaillie (grouse) hallmark and the German imperial crown with crescent for export. The white enamel dial is in magnificent condition and features elegant Arabic numerals, a red 24-hour designation along the outer edge, and a fine sub-second hand at the 6 o’clock position. The beautifully blued hands contrast splendidly with the dial and appear deep blue depending on the light.
The mechanical hand-wound movement is signed with 'Kaiserstunde' and shows a high-quality finish. The movement is equipped with a screw balance and jewel bearings (jewels), underscoring the chronometer-grade precision of its era. The movement runs as it should.
The case closes perfectly and bears a fine serial number (373111). This lot makes a fantastic addition for any serious enthusiast of antique Swiss watches and historic horology.
