Nine bound volumes of Journal de Spirou recueils, published by Dupuis in EO edition, featuring Franquin and various authors, dating from 1954 to 1959, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Bel ensemble of 9 old editor bindings of Journal de Spirou, published by Dupuis.
The lot includes Journal Spirou Albums no. 49, 61, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68 and 70.
A very beautiful set for collectors, notably including no. 49, somewhat older, followed by a substantial series of bindings from the following years.
These albums belong to a period particularly appreciated for the Journal de Spirou and allow the re-discovery of many iconic characters and series from Dupuis editions: Spirou and Fantasio, Marsupilami, Gaston Lagaffe, Lucky Luke, Buck Danny, Jerry Spring, Johan and Peewit (Pirlouit), as well as numerous other comic strips, illustrations, columns and period advertisements of the time.
The different bindings all feature very beautiful illustrated covers, especially decorative, highlighting Spirou, Fantasio and Marsupilami. The colors remain beautiful and pleasant despite the age of these albums.
Overall condition: good for their age, with signs of use and small varying wear depending on the volume. The covers retain a nice overall appearance and bright colors.
Specific faults:
No. 61: slight defect and small wear on the edge of the cover, near the spine. See photo.
No. 63: a block of pages is partially unglued from the inner binding. The affected pages remain clean and well preserved. See photo.
No. 64: the inner block is detached from the cover at the binding, but remains intact and clean. See photo.
For the other albums, possible small marks, scuffs and wear consistent with their age, visible in the photographs.
The numerous photographs are an integral part of the description and allow a precise appraisal of the condition of each album.
