Madonna with Child, a fully carved wooden sculpture in the South Tyrolean Grödner carving tradition.
Dating by assessment: rather 1960s/1970s, in a historicizing late Baroque or Neobaroque style.
Wood, polychromed and with extensive sheet gold finishing, also on the reverse side.
Height: about 80 cm.
No modern maker labels, brand stamps or workshop plaques present.
In good condition for its age with craquelure, patina, minor losses, chipping, abrasion and partial finish losses.
Fully three-dimensional execution with carved back, drapery folds, faces, hands and hair.
The Christ Child holds a blue ball or Imperial Orb (Reichsapfel).
The underside shows solid wood, machining traces and a central clamping/working hole.
