Description from the seller
DESCRIPTION OF THE OBJECT
Splendid and imposing vintage artistic sculpture depicting an elephant with raised trunk, a traditional heraldic symbol of good omens, prosperity and fortune. The work is entirely handmade in Murano, according to the oldest and most prestigious techniques of the Venetian master glassmakers.
The statuette stands out for its majestic stage presence due to its significant height and exceptional internal workmanship: the central core is adorned with an elegant three-dimensional bubble texture (bullicante technique) and with a rich inclusion of 24kt gold powder and leaf, which captures the light creating extraordinary metallic reflections. The decorated body is enclosed in a massive layer of high-thickness transparent crystal glass (cristallo), which provides the piece with brilliance, stability and a notable specific weight (sommerso technique).
The piece bears the signature incised on the base "Rosis Murano", certifying its authenticity and provenance from one of the renowned glassmaking studios of the lagoon, considerably increasing the collectible value of the work compared to anonymous catalog variants. An elegant decorative piece for modern or classical interiors or for enthusiasts of high Italian craftsmanship.
