Description from the seller
Iconic cubic sculptural vase with an organic and asymmetric through-hole, an extraordinary example of Italian Mid-Century modernism. Produced by the renowned Bertoncello Ceramiche d’Arte (Schiavon, Vicenza) from a design by master ceramist Roberto Rigon.
The piece stands out for its renowned ceramic finish with a materic glaze named "Screziato Tobacco" (Speckled Tobacco): a unique combination of matte beige/sand-colored glaze enriched with dense drips and rust/brown veins that react in firing, giving a rough texture and a pleasant tactile feel reminiscent of natural stone.
The object still bears the original blue paper label from the manufacturer on the front, a feature that greatly enhances its collectible value. It is 10 cm tall, 9 cm wide, and 10 cm deep.
