Brass wall lamp with a single adjustable articulated arm, bronze finish, made in France, dating to 2000–2010, in good used condition and not in working order, dimensions 32 cm high, 12 cm wide and 12 cm deep.
Description from the seller
Antique Adjustable Brass Wall lamp. Early 20th Century
The fitting has a substantial architectural design with a jointed adjustable mechanism, allowing the arm to be repositioned and secured at different angles. The circular mounting section is decorated with a classical leaf-and-scroll border, while the articulated central joint has a bold stepped form. The long tubular arm terminates in a turned decorative detail.
The piece retains a particularly appealing untouched aged surface, with darkened patination, oxidation, spotting and areas of wear revealing variations in the underlying metal. It has not been polished, preserving its authentic antique appearance.
Period: Early 20th century, approximately 1900–1930
Style: Traditional / Industrial / Classical
Material: Brass or brass-finished metal
Type: Adjustable articulated lamp arm / wall-light fitting
Condition: Antique condition with considerable age-related patination, oxidation, surface wear, scratches and marks. Sold as an unrestored lighting component; functionality and completeness have not been tested.
A characterful piece of early adjustable lighting hardware, particularly attractive for its substantial construction, decorative mounting and original aged finish.
Suggested Catawiki title:
Antique Adjustable Brass Wall Lamp / Reading Light Arm – Articulated – c. 1900–1930
If you show me the other end, the underside/back of the round mount, and any marks or numbers, I may be able to narrow down what type of lamp it originally belonged to and potentially the manufacturer.
