Two vintage wall-mounted glass-front tableaux of marine knots from France, dating to the 1960s–1970s, made with mahogany wood, glass and gilded brass, cotton cordage, weighing 2.2 kg with overall dimensions of 31×41×4 cm and 32×19×4 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
I propose 2 magnificent wall display panels from a collection of maritime knots. The first is presented on a dark blue background with elements of naval rigging and cotton cordage knots. Under each knot there is a brass plaque screwed on, bearing the name of the item in French. Dimensions: 31x41x4 cm, weight 1600 g. The whole is in very good condition. On the back, a hook to hang on the wall.
The second features the small trawler, dimensions 32x19x4 cm, weight 610 g, a set of knots with, beneath each one, the name in French. In very good condition. On the back, a small hook to place on the wall. On the side of the large board, a wink at the red pom-pom of the French Navy.
There are traces of black marker used to erase the imprint of an ink stamp (accidental) and a label with the inscription "noeuds d'Armor".
In like-new condition, rigging impeccable, glass intact, frames in varnished wood with brackets in gilded brass.
Careful and well-protected shipping to prevent damage.
