Description from the seller
First original edition of this important poetic collection by Giovanni Titta Rosa (1891-1972), published by Carabba in 1935. Volume in 16mo, 107, [5], in soft cover.
Very precious copy belonging to the special edition of only 50 copies, signed by the author, distinct from the ordinary edition of 450 numbered copies.
The copy offered here also features a beautiful autograph dedication by Giovanni Titta Rosa at the colophon, an element that notably enhances its collectible and documentary interest.
Alta luna occupies a significant moment in Titta Rosa's lyrical production, after Le feste delle stagioni (1928), and represents one of the central poetic collections of his work in the 1930s. Titta Rosa, a writer, poet and literary critic from Abruzzo, was active for much of the 20th century and contributed to numerous literary journals; his output includes poetry, fiction and essays. Alta luna figures among his main poetic collections.
The soft cover shows widespread foxing and browning, more evident on the front cover and along the edges, in addition to signs of use at the borders and corners. The inner leaves are overall preserved. There are physiologic yellowings, foxing, and darkening at the cut edges.
