Large oval flour canister, handmade in terracotta with glazed maiolica decoration by Ceramiche Artistiche Montelupo Fiorentino in Tuscany, dating to 1970–1980, with dimensions 23 × 26 × 20 cm and weight about 3.5 kg, in good used condition with a small internal edge chip not visible from the outside.
Description from the seller
Large Oval Flour Container in Majolica - Artistic Ceramics of Montelupo Fiorentino - 3.5 kg
Splendid and imposing oval flour container with lid, fully handmade in fine glazed majolica by the historic "Ceramiche Artistiche" of Montelupo Fiorentino (Tuscany), a renowned ceramic production center since the Renaissance.
The piece is distinguished by a rich, detailed multicolor decoration executed by hand in a compendiary style: at the center stands an elegant cartouche with the word "Farina", topped by a fruit basket and framed by acanthus leaves and plum shoots. The painted details and the vivid colors testify to the high quality of Tuscan craftsmanship from the late 20th century.
Equipped with integrated side handles and a large lid with a molded grip. The original label from the manufacturer is still perfectly preserved on the side of the object.
The object presents in excellent overall aesthetic condition, with colors and glaze very vibrant. It shows a small chip on the inner lip of the upper edge (visible in the detail photos); it is specified that this chip remains completely hidden from view when the lid is in place and is not at all visible from the outside, preserving the visual impact and decorative nature of the piece. Small and normal imperfections are due to the hand-made artisanal fabrication performed entirely by hand.
