Eugène Masselus is listed in the reference work “The Belgian Visual Artists from the 19th to the 21st Century” by Paul Piron.
Born in Kortrijk in 1897 and died in 1998.
He produced, among other things, village and town views, landscapes and dune scenes with an impressionistic touch.
He was a member of the Royal Sint-Lucasgilde in Kortrijk, where his hundredth birthday was celebrated during the 1997 exhibition.
Among other things, he exhibited in a group at the exhibition “Impressionism in the Leie Region” in Kortrijk in 1973 and was represented posthumously at the exhibition “The Kortrijk Beguinage in Painting” in the Sint-Annazaal of the Beguinage in Kortrijk in 2007.
