Original oil painting by Demetrio Susín Barra (b. 1949), titled En el Museo / At the Museum, from 2000–2010, depicting an interior museum scene, hand-signed, 20 x 15 cm, mounted with a frame (frame 28 x 22 cm).
Description from the seller
Original work by Demetrio Susín Barra (1949), Spanish painter and professor of Drawing, executed in oil on a prepared panel, hand-signed in the lower right corner.
The scene depicts several visitors contemplating the works in a museum room. Susín resolves the composition with a swift, synthetic brushstroke, building the figures with small patches of color. The wide gray floor space, the four figures distributed in depth, and the green and blue abstract painting dominating the wall create an especially balanced and contemporary composition.
This subject is less common than the artist's well-known coastal scenes and is especially interesting within his small-format production. Interior and museum scenes allow us to appreciate very clearly his ability to suggest figures, space, and movement with a remarkable economy of means.
The pictorial panel, 20 x 15 cm, is mounted by adhesion on the inner backing of the frame (28x22 cm), so its reverse is not visible without disassembling the set.
The work comes from a private collector who acquired it directly from the author. It will be carefully packaged and protected.
