Elene Bokeria, The Dragon, an original oil painting, 140 × 115 cm, 2025, signed and in excellent condition, depicting mythological themes in blue, beige and red with provenance direct from the artist’s studio in Barcelona.
Description from the seller
The Dragon explores themes of transformation, chaos, renewal, and elemental force, drawing on Eastern and Western symbolism. Dedicated to the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese zodiac.
The dragon’s winding body dominates the composition in deep blues, violets, and crimson tones, moving through an ornamental field of flames, feathers, and flowing forms. Its continuous movement creates a sense of tension between opposing forces: destruction and creation, chaos and renewal, instinct and transformation.
Rather than depicting transformation as a single moment, the work presents it as an ongoing cycle, a process of breaking apart, evolving, and becoming something new. The dragon becomes a symbol of the power held within that process: both destructive and protective, instinctive and regenerative.
