Description from the seller
Rare Longines Chronograph "Engineer" – Caliber 13ZN (1941)
This magnificent specimen from the early 1940s is a true milestone in watchmaking. Its beating heart is the legendary Caliber 13ZN, introduced by Longines in 1936 and universally recognized by collectors as one of the most important, beautiful, and innovative chronograph movements ever made.
Celebrated for its superb manufacture architecture, the 13ZN represents a piece of history on the wrist. The movement serial number (6117***) perfectly matches the internal case reference, dating the watch to 1941 and confirming its absolute originality with matching numbers in every part, a crucial detail that exponentially elevates its rarity and desirability.
Specifications:
Case and Dimensions: 14kt Gold-Filled case with a diameter of 34mm (excluding crown) x 41mm lug-to-lug, a thickness of 12.50mm. The screw-down Longines signed case back is in solid 14kt gold.
Bi-compax configuration professionally restored, gold indices, elegant gold-plated hands (not original to the watch) and a clear peripheral minute track.
Movement: Longines proprietary Caliber 13ZN Swiss Made, manual-wind with 17 jewels and 18,000 A/h, functioning correctly and in superb visual condition.
Details: Plexiglass crystal and gold-plated crown.
Included: Generic leather strap (marked " genuine alligator") completed by an original Longines gold-plated buckle, though it is a later replacement and not original to the watch. A vintage original Longines box is also included, though not original to the watch.
