Louis XVI style decorative mirror with Rococo motifs, made in Italy in the 1960s–1970s, constructed from composite material with a rich gilded patina and smoked glass.
Description from the seller
Decorative mirror inspired by Louis XVI with delicate Rococo echoes, made in Italy during the second half of the 20th century. Its elaborate structure, molded in composite material and finished with a rich gilded patina, reproduces the ornamental elegance of the great French mirrors of the 18th century. The frame stands out for its exuberant repertoire of volutes, rocaille, vegetal garlands and relief floral motifs, crowned by a striking central crest that adds verticality and a theatrical character to the piece.
The smoked glass gives the whole a singular and refined personality, softening reflections and bringing a more intimate and sophisticated atmosphere than conventional mirrors. This darkened tone harmonizes with the decorative richness of the frame, creating an attractive contrast between the luminosity of the gilded finish and the depth of the mirror.
A piece with strong ornamental presence, ideal for classic, neoclassical or eclectic interiors, where it can serve as a focal element above a fireplace, console or sideboard. Its Italian manufacture reflects the interest of 20th-century decorative manufactories in reinterpreting European historical styles with contemporary techniques, producing an elegant, decorative and functional object that preserves all the charm of the French palatial tradition adapted to the tastes of its era. From a single owner.
Shipped with certificate and careful packing.
