Description from the seller
Elegant manifesto dedicated to La Plume, a Parisian magazine of art and literature, centered on the profile of a woman with long flowing hair and an elaborate jeweled headdress. The figure is surrounded by zodiac symbols, stars and botanical decorations, while in the lower band there is the calendar.
Note: This is a later edition, probably from the 1970s.
The image reprises the refined design of Alphonse Mucha, master of Art Nouveau, and presents elements characteristic of his style: sinuous lines, ornamental composition and a rich palette of warm tones. At the top you can read the title La Plume and the references to the Salon des Cent and to the Bibliothèque artistique et littéraire. A manifesto of strong decorative presence, with yellowing, stains and signs of time visible in the photograph.
