One-of-a-kind Aka Raku tea bowl crafted by Waraku, the 8th generation master of an independent Raku pottery kiln in Kyoto Gion. Not part of the Raku family (Chojiro / Kichizaemon lineage), it is a cherished folk Raku heritage workshop.
This chawan was made in May, Showa 58, marked “Waraku” stamped on base.
Glossy red glaze with natural craquelure, decorated with hand-painted white line motifs and gilded speckles. Thick solid pottery body with warm glazed texture.
Supplied complete with original signed paulownia wooden box, storage cloth, certificate and pottery leaflet, full set accessories.
Condition: Near unused vintage condition, barely any signs of use. Natural craquelure on glaze, no chips, cracks or repairs. All photos show the actual item you receive.
