Lot of 20 color plates. Good state of preservation, signs of pencil annotations as in the photo. Shipping: INSURED by Bartolini\DPD courier, declare any damages at pickup;

Plates from the collection of the monumental work: Les Hyménomycètes ou Description de tous les Champignons qui croissent en France (published from 1874) by Claude Casimir Gillet himself. It was Gillet, in 1874, who proposed the taxonomic reclassification of this species under the genus Pleurotus
Claude Casimir Gillet (Dormans, May 19, 1806 – Alençon, September 1, 1896) was an important French botanist, mycologist and veterinarian. Initially trained for the medical and veterinary professions, he spent four years in Algeria as a veterinarian of the army, where he studied in depth the fauna and flora of the Mediterranean. Settling permanently in Alençon in 1847, he devoted himself to botanical research and, in particular, to the study of fungi, becoming a prominent figure in 19th-century mycology.
