Midnight Fitting – Hand signed, a 40 x 40 cm giclée on canvas in a limited edition of 20, signed by the artist, with certificate of authenticity, shipped from France and ready to frame.
Description from the seller
Midnight, in front of a fashion house display window. Inside, a young woman poses on a plinth in an ivory ball gown, while a seamstress kneels to adjust the hem, pinning away, pinning away. Outside, a man in a tuxedo, leaning against a black sedan, smokes without taking his eyes off the scene.
One thinks of Pygmalion and My Fair Lady, of endless fittings by the great designers of the fifties, and of the window as theater of the city. Who is he waiting for? The woman in white, no doubt. But for now, she still belongs to the workshop, between the red and blue mannequins.
Glass separates two worlds: the warm gold of couture and the cool blue of the street.
