Description of the lot
An extraordinary and rare rectangular box with a Malachite-effect glass lid (also called Jade/Malachite Glass or Jade Glass), dating from the 1930s (the full Art Deco period).
The piece is made of pressed and frosted glass with the characteristic green and dark marbled veins that imitate malachite stone, typical of the renowned Bohemian production of the era (attributed to the Gablonz area / workshops of the Curt Schlevogt group - Ingrid Collection or Heinrich Hoffmann).
The lid and the walls feature a sophisticated and energetic geometric relief work with diamond-shaped pyramidal/faceted patterns, emblematic of avant-garde Art Deco design.
A collectible piece with great visual impact and historical value, perfect for collectors of art glass and Art Deco items.
