Description

The Empress N. 5 is an original oil painting on canvas, conceived as a preparatory study for a potential large-format work in the DNA – Contemporary Archetypes painting series, currently in planning.

The Empress traverses time as a figure of safeguarded knowledge, intuition, and what lies beneath the surface. In this work the archetype is brought into the present through a contemporary painting language. It is not illustrated: the trace remains in the face, posture, and above all in the gaze.

The painting is built through successive strokes and oil glazes, with particular attention to the rendering of the flesh tones, light, and details. The use of fine brushes allows working on the minimal variations of the face and gaze, while preserving the painterly nature of the piece.

The 30 × 40 cm format concentrates the figure in a compact, almost intimate space. The work also represents the first step toward a possible large-format transposition within DNA – Contemporary Archetypes, a project in which NUSH Menna investigates the persistence of archetypes in contemporary physiognomy and imagery.

Original work directly from the artist’s studio.

Conditions and frame

The work is offered without a frame.

The frames and mats possibly present in the staged photographs are purely illustrative and are not included in the purchase.

If the winning bid significantly exceeds the reserve price, a simple frame, chosen by the artist in harmony with the work, may be provided as a complimentary addition.

Otherwise, the painting will be carefully protected and shipped rolled in a rigid tube to ensure greater safety during transport.

Shipping and notes

The work will be packaged with particular care and with materials appropriate for shipping artworks. Whenever possible, recycled or reused materials will be used to minimize waste and the environmental impact of packaging.

The painting will be accompanied by the relevant certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.

The colors visible in the photographs may differ slightly from the original work due to lighting conditions at the time of shooting, the camera used, and the different settings and technologies of monitors, smartphones, and tablets.

The staged images are intended solely to suggest possible display solutions. Furniture, frames, mats, and other elements present in the settings are not included in the purchase. The proportions in the simulations may also differ slightly from reality: for the actual dimensions of the work the measurements stated in the card, 30 × 40 cm, are final.

Original unique work — NUSH Menna, 2026.

Seller's Story

My painting is born from the desire to explore the human being in contemporary time, between identity, symbols, and inner transformations. I do not simply paint what I see, but what I perceive behind the image: emotions, fragility, tensions, and contradictions that belong to our era. My work develops through a layered and slow oil technique, where every detail has a meaning and every element contributes to the narrative of the piece. The figures I paint do not represent merely individuals, but universal conditions: vulnerability, strength, loneliness, and the longing for connection. For me painting is an act of research and authenticity, a way to restore depth in a world dominated by speed and superficial image. Through color, light, and composition I seek to create works capable of maintaining a living relationship with those who observe them over time. My works are present in international private collections and are mainly created in oil on canvas, with a constant production and an artistic research in continual evolution. "ZEITGEISTTEPERAMENTLOS [SPIRITO - DEL - TEMPO - SENZA - SPIRITO] Riflesso di un attento "studium" travestito da distratto "punctum" - raccolta di ritratti senza identità - costellazione claustrofobica di tribù urbane - moltitudini solitarie - selfie ugualmente di sé massificati per te distratto - istantanee di un passato presente - colori forti per spiriti fragili - profonda superficialità - spirito - del - tempo - senza - spirito."
