Analysis of the work
The painting depicts a large imposing white rooster, a recurring symbol in Chagall associated with passion, fertility and the rural world of his childhood in Vitebsk. On its right there is a female figure in a red dress and a bridal veil (white/translucent veil), evoking the love and memory of his wife Bella. The rooster rests its foot on a painter's palette, while a hand holding a brush emerges from the figure, symbolizing the direct link between love, artistic creation and the artist's folkloric motifs.

Careful shipment in a rigid cardboard tube. Mondial Relay.
