Meaning:

This work builds a vibrant dialogue between gesture, geometry, and ornament. The vertical stripes, seemingly rigid, contrast with the spontaneity of the brushstrokes and with floral motifs, creating a tension between order and freedom.
The intensity of the reds, blues, and yellows turns the surface into an almost musical space, while the ornamental patterns evoke a cultural memory reinterpreted through a contemporary language. The result is an expressive and cosmopolitan painting, where the decorative ceases to be mere adornment and becomes an essential part of the visual structure.
Ritmos de la memoria could be understood, in short, as a reflection on how inherited forms can fragment, overlap, and transform until they acquire a new identity.

About the artist:

Tessa is a Spanish painter with a long career. Trained in the 1990s in painting courses at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. In her works color and geometry are elements through which she seeks balance and harmony. Influenced by the neoplastic currents of the vanguards, she recreates a personal and suggestive work, where elegance and style are a testament to vital commitment. Her paintings have been shown in national and international galleries. She was a member of the Ward Nasse Gallery in NY in the 1990s, where she exhibited on several occasions, such as in the show "Peek a Boo" and other group shows. Recently she has participated in different international fairs promoted by Art3f, such as Paris in 2020 or Monaco in 2023.
