AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Wall decorative console from the second half of the 20th century, made of carved and polychromed wood, conceived as a reinterpretation of the exuberant ornamental consoles of European Baroque. Its sinuous and dynamic silhouette is articulated through an elaborate lattice of scrolls, volutes, and acanthus leaves that unfold with marked motion, creating a sculptural effect of great visual richness.
The piece features an upper shelf with a wavy profile, crowned by a gilded S-scroll molding that emphasizes its contour and adds brightness to the whole. Below it develops a complex pierced decoration formed by vegetal motifs and intertwined curved elements, at the center of which stands a large cartouche inspired by Baroque surrounded by stylized leaves and small carved flowers. The polychromy in dark green tones, enriched with gold applications that highlight the reliefs, gives depth and character to the composition, evoking the ancient decorative techniques used in furniture and ornaments of representation.
The marked visual asymmetry of the vegetal elements, balanced by an overall harmonious structure, faithfully reflects the Baroque taste for movement, theatricality, and the scenographic effect. Beyond its function as a small shelf or display stand, this console has a strong ornamental dimension, acting as an authentic sculptural piece intended to enhance walls, foyers, living rooms, or decorative corners.
Representative example of the historicist revival developed during the second half of the 20th century, this piece recovers the decorative language of classical Baroque through a colorful and expressive interpretation, ideal for interiors with traditional, eclectic, or Mediterranean inspiration where one seeks to incorporate an elegant, warm accent with great decorative presence.
Certified shipping and careful packaging.
