Angelo Fiessi (1891–1977) – Landscape – Oil – 22.5 × 28.5 cm
Interesting painting by Angelo Fiessi (Castenedolo, 1891 – Brescia, 1977), Lombard painter of the twentieth century known mainly for his landscape production.
The work depicts a suggestive rural landscape immersed in vegetation, executed with immediate and strongly expressive painting.
The composition is characterized by rapid, broad, earthly brushstrokes, through which the artist builds the landscape using predominantly green, gray, ochre, and brown tones.
Particularly interesting is the rendering of the vegetation and the central path, obtained through color overlays and quick brush touches that confer movement and depth to the scene.
The work well represents that exploration of landscape painting and painting from nature that characterizes a significant part of Angelo Fiessi’s output.
