Description from the seller
This still life painting signed by a painter: Marie-Thérèse André-Mathieu (depicting a bouquet of peonies in a crystal vase) is an oil on canvas representative of the Paris School movement. The painting is in perfect condition. It just needs to be given a frame from the same period for those who prefer it framed. The subject can be hung without a frame in a "bohemian" ambiance as painters did in their interiors. The author signed as André-M, shortening her hyphenated name as we have observed on other paintings signed by this painter. She was born in Aix-en-Provence and worked in the 20th century. She exhibited at the Salons of the French Artists between 1930 and 1932. (landscapes, portraits, etc.) This luminous bouquet will brighten the room in which it will be hung with its vivid colors. A frame called "Montparnasse" in off-white tones or lightly gray-tinted will bring it out, unless you prefer a gold frame which would also suit it.
