Clarissen Turnhout - Figurine - Mariabeeld - 36 cm - Wax, Glass, Wood, dust, metal

Beautiful Marian statue with Jesus made by the Clarisses nuns in Turnhout. The statue is handmade and finished with various materials.
The Clarisses put a lot of work into making these figures; they were cast and then hand-painted, after which the figures were dressed with textiles that were hand-embroidered.
The Clarisses in Turnhout have been stopped making these wax figures under domes for several years. They also produced other works such as nativity scenes, candles, etc.
The glass dome is in good condition.
