An unsigned oil painting on an oak panel, titled Schaatsend paar op het ijs, an impressionist 19th‑century Dutch winter scene from the Netherlands (1862) showing a couple skating arm in arm with a windmill in the background and a figure with a sledge on the ice, sold with a later gilded frame and measuring 31 x 27 cm (panel 20 x 15 cm).
Description from the seller
Vividly painted ice scene with a skating couple, arm in arm and full of movement. On the left in the background a windmill, on the right a figure with a sledge on the ice. Loose, sketchy brushwork in the Romantic tradition of the Dutch winter landscape.
Technique: oil on oak panel, back with beveled edges
Dimensions: panel 20 x 15 cm, with frame 31 x 27 cm
Signature: lower right monogrammed and dated "62" (1862). The monogram is partly worn and not legible with certainty (possibly "J.a.K/H" or "T.a.K/H." ). The signature is hidden under the rabbet of the frame
Attribution: the maker is not established, the work is offered as anonymous
Craquelé across the entire surface, appropriate to the age
Panel stable, without cracks
Later gilded frame with cable moulding, with slight signs of use
The work is sold as pictured. The photographs are part of the description. Shipping by registered mail and carefully packed.
