Description from the seller
Rudolf Draheim (born 1941 in Dębno, West Prussia), German painter and graphic artist
Title: Panta Rhei, List 2003 (17–20)
Year: 2003
Technique: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 40 × 40 cm
Frame: Unframed on canvas stretcher
Signature: Signed lower left by the artist and dated “93”
Unique: Yes
The square oil painting belongs to Rudolf Draheim’s body of work series “Panta Rhei.” The expression, derived from Greek, means “Everything flows” and describes the notion of a world in a perpetual process of change.
The composition is defined by intense blues, greens, and yellows, with individual red and dark color fields. Horizontal, partly blurred color transitions meet strong vertical forms and thickly applied passages. From this arises an abstract, atmospheric pictorial landscape that oscillates between movement, spatial depth, and color intensification.
Rudolf Draheim began painting in 1981 and, in 1984, co-founded the Nalepa Gallery in Berlin. His works have been shown at, among others, the Münchhausen Museum in Bodenwerder, the Georgian National Museum in Tbilisi, the HeroAll Art Salon in Chengdu, and Fetzer Gallery. Since 1997, works by the artist have been part of the German Bundestag art collection. Further works are held, among others, in corporate and private collections.
The work comes from a private collection.
The work is in good overall condition. No major damages or noticeable restorations are visible.
The painting will be shipped unframed on the stretched canvas. Shipping is carefully and securely packaged. Pickup is also possible by prior arrangement.
